To Jeremy Corbyn. Sunday 28 May 2019
Labour’s expected loss of seats in the European Parliamentary election was self-inflicted. Labour has the policies that can bring the country together – rebuilding communities with massive public investment, expanding common ownership, and giving workers and unions more power.
But we cannot do this if we compromise or equivocate on the values that unite us – our internationalism and our commitment to challenging the narratives of the far right.
We need to embrace a radical vision to transform Europe, challenging big capital and the far right, and fighting for climate justice, gender equality and refugee and migrant rights.
We, the undersigned, call for Labour to hold a ballot of all of its members to determine whether or not Labour should back a confirmatory public vote on Brexit, and support Remain in that vote.
